Privacy
Policy

This policy explains how LLI Design (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit llidesign.co.uk or get in touch with us. We decide how this information is used, so we are responsible for it under UK data protection law.

If you have a question about your information, or want to use any of the rights described below, please contact us through the form on our Contact page.

What we collect

  • Details you send us through our forms, or by email or phone: your name, email address, phone number, the address of your property, information about your project, and any files you attach. Job applicants and suppliers also send the details their form asks for.
  • How you found us, recorded with your enquiry: the page you arrived on, the website or advert that sent you (for example a Google or ChatGPT advert reference), the pages you looked at before sending the form, your IP address when you sent it, and the approximate area that IP address points to.
  • Forms you start but don’t send. If you begin one of our enquiry forms and leave without sending it, what you have typed so far may be saved, so that an interrupted enquiry isn’t lost.
  • How you use the site, through cookies and similar technologies: pages viewed, time on site, device and browser type, and approximate location. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, arrange a consultation and, if we work together, to provide our services. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and then performing that contract.
  • To understand which advertising and channels bring us enquiries, and to improve our website and adverts. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business.
  • To protect our forms from spam and misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping our website secure.
  • To consider job applications and supplier introductions you send us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in recruiting and working with suppliers.

We don’t sell your information.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, and Google Ads to measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries, phone calls or visits to our project pages, and to show our adverts to people who have visited the site. These services use cookies and collect information about your device and visit. This data passes through our own measurement server (provided by Stape, in the EU) before it reaches Google.

Our own cookies remember how you first found us (for example the advert or website that sent you, and the page you arrived on) for 90 days, so that if you send us an enquiry we know where it came from.

Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at how the page is used to tell people apart from automated spam. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to it.

We also use SiteBehaviour to see how visitors move around our pages, so we can improve the site.

Phone calls. If you reach us from a Google advert, the phone number on our website may be shown as a Google forwarding number. Google then records the time and length of your call and your area code, so we can see which adverts lead to calls.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. To control personalised Google adverts, visit My Ad Center.

Enhanced conversions (Google adverts)

When you send a consultation form after clicking one of our Google adverts, we send Google a scrambled (hashed) version of the email address you entered. Google uses it only to match your enquiry to the advert you clicked, so we can measure which adverts work. The email address is scrambled before it is sent, and Google doesn’t use it to build profiles or show you adverts. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring our advertising.

Our adverts on ChatGPT (OpenAI)

We sometimes advertise on ChatGPT, which is run by OpenAI. If you reach our website by clicking one of those adverts, a short message at the bottom of the page asks whether we may use cookies to measure how our website and marketing perform. Visitors who arrive any other way don’t see the message, and the rest of this section doesn’t apply to them.

If you click Accept, OpenAI’s measurement code runs on our pages and sets OpenAI’s cookies on our website, which hold a reference to the advert you clicked for up to 30 days (the advert reference, __oppref); OpenAI’s code also sets a browser reference, __obref, for up to a year. It tells OpenAI which of our pages and projects you look at and whether you send us an enquiry, so we can see which adverts work. This can include a scrambled version of details you enter on our site. The legal basis is your consent.

If you click Reject, or don’t answer, OpenAI’s code doesn’t run and no OpenAI cookies are set.

If you send us an enquiry, whether or not you accepted. When someone who came from one of our ChatGPT adverts sends our consultation form, our measurement server tells OpenAI that an enquiry was made. It sends a scrambled (hashed) copy of the email address you entered and a reference number for the enquiry; if you accepted cookies, it also sends the advert reference. OpenAI uses this to match the enquiry to the advert, so we know whether our advertising works. Our server doesn’t send OpenAI your name, phone number, property address or message. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring our advertising. You have the right to object: contact us through the form on our Contact page and we won’t share anything more about you with OpenAI.

Your choice. We remember your answer in a small cookie of our own, lli_ad_consent, for 180 days, so we don’t ask again on every page. You can change your answer at any time with the link below. If you change from Accept to Reject, OpenAI’s cookies are removed from our website and its code stops running; information already sent isn’t affected.

Who receives it. OpenAI OpCo, LLC, which may process this information in the United States. How OpenAI handles it: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers who handle information on our behalf: our website host (WP Engine), 34SP (which sends the emails our website forms create), Google (Workspace for our email and enquiry records, Analytics, Ads and reCAPTCHA), SiteBehaviour (website analytics), Stape (server-side measurement), Trello (managing enquiries) and OpenAI (measuring our ChatGPT adverts; see “Our adverts on ChatGPT” above).

If we work together, we share what’s needed with the contractors, suppliers and consultants working on your project, and with our professional advisers, such as our accountant.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for six years after our last contact with you, or longer where we have a legitimate reason to do so, such as a legitimate interest.

Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months (the longest Google allows). Our “how you found us” cookies last 90 days; the ChatGPT advert cookies are described above.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. To do any of these, contact us through the form on our Contact page. We’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version is always on this page. Last updated: 25 October 2026.
